Brooklyn based cartoonist and illustrator Joe Fenton started working on this piece back in 2010 using only graphite. It is 8ft across & 5ft high on Arches watercolor paper. Its amazing to see the evolution of his work, which he finished the next year. The dimension and attention to detail in this piece is absolutely jaw-dropping.
Joe says his personal work is inspired by some of the early surrealists like Hieronymous Bosch and Breugal, and such children's illustrators as Arthur Rackham and Wayne Anderson. He is currently working on his third book. See more at: http://joefentonart.com/
